Roomie Privacy Policy

Roomie is a shared-home app for groceries, recipes, home info and shared expenses. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it and how to delete it.

What we collect

We don’t sell your data, show ads or use third-party analytics or tracking. We don’t use your data to track you across other apps or websites.

Your account data and content are stored in the European Union. Push notifications and CDN delivery may pass through servers outside the EU, under the providers’ standard contractual clauses.

We process your data to provide the service you signed up for (contract). We keep server logs under our legitimate interest in keeping the app working. We send push notifications with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Retention

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed immediately from our live systems, and from backups within 30 days.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and can’t be undone.

What is deleted:

Your profile: name, surname, email, phone and photo.
Your sign-in, so signing in again with the same email starts a new account.
Your private grocery and expense lists, and everything in them.
Your share of every expense, and the “who it’s for” tags on grocery items.
Room invites you created.
The room itself, with all its lists, recipes, expenses, home info and photos, if you were its last member.

What stays with the room for the people still in it:

Shared groceries, recipes, home info, and the photos attached to them.
Shared expenses. An expense doesn’t store who added it, so nothing on it names you after your share is removed.

Data on your phone is wiped when the deletion succeeds. If you can’t access the app, email us and we’ll delete your account for you.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To do any of these, email ktsirakos@hotmail.com. You can correct your profile in the app at any time. For a copy of your data, email us from the address on your account and we will send you a machine-readable (JSON) export within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Roomie is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above. If the changes are significant, we’ll also tell you in the app.
